About Me
A doula is a professional trained in childbirth who provides emotional, physical, and educational support to a mother who is expecting, is experiencing labor, or has recently given birth. The doula’s purpose is to help women have a safe, memorable, and empowering birthing experience. Labor and childbirth is a very intimate time in a family's life. I would love to assist you in your journey to motherhood.
I love birth and look forward to learning as much as possible with every birth. I believe that being a doula is a calling to serve and, it's a wonderful opportunity. When I'm not doula-ing, I am married mother of five (three boys/two girls. I have had all kinds of birthing situations with my own pregnancies (vaginal, induction, homebirth, etc). In addition to being a doula, I also offer placenta encapsulation. I'm passionate about breastfeeding, cloth diapering, and alternative/holistic lifestyles.
My Story
I have been in love with birth since the age of 16. My older sister gave birth to my niece naturally and, I remember being amazed by the beauty, strength, and ability of women. I watched in amazement as my sister labored with peace and surrounded by love and support. I decided later that all women deserve that. It's owed to us. Women deserve to know that birth doesn't have to be frightening and restrictive but, it can be peaceful and empowering. My goal is to help women navigate and find that peace and empowerment through labor and birthing.
